Please help! Question about parakeet’s health?
I’ve owned this parakeet for a few years (so he’s not a baby anymore) and all of a sudden he seems to be very sick, and I have no idea what’s wrong. He’s has some stress issues before, so I don’t know if this is the same type of thing. And they always clear up in like 2 days…..I don’t know if I should take him to the vet or not….we don’t really have a bird vet around here and I don’t want to spend a zillion dollers on something that is no big deal. I’m very worried about him though. He has fresh water, food, nice cage etc. (there is also another bird with him and it’s fine….so it’s not loneliness or a virus, cause the other one would have it I think)
Here’s what he’s doing: He’s just sitting at the bottem of the cage and being quiet (which he never is). He seems to have a bad loss of balence. He stubbles around at the bottom of the cage when he does walk. (ps. the birds never sit at the bottem of the cage)
What should I do? What do you think is wrong?

Which is the best food for good health of my parakeets?
Got two parakeets who are almost 11years old. I give them fruits and sunflower seeds etc. I need to know apart from this which kind of seeds are more healthy so that their green feathers look fresh and nice?

Health risks: Contamination between beta fish tank and parakeet?
I have a budgie. I’ve wanted to get a small tank with a beta fish, and I’ve had a variety of fish in the past. I haven’t had them since I’ve gotten my budgie, though, and I’m concerned about the contamination of one species to another.
I’m concerned about the health risks of my bird’s poops getting in the tank, as far as the fish is concerned, and about my bird ingesting water from the tank. Neither could possibly be healthy for either party.
Do you have any thoughts/knowledge you’d like to share on this?

I have a parakeet with one wing that twitches constantly?
I received a pair of parakeets, a male and female, a couple of months ago and caged them with my baby parakeet. The male parakeet’s right wing would twitch and I thought he may be nervous in his new environment. His wing seems to twitch all the time now and he is getting picked on by the other two birds. Is the twitching a nervous condition or a health problem I should have looked at? Thanks.

very sick parakeet, please help, loss of equilibrium, lethargic, quiet?
my parakeet is usually very lively. I found him about 9 months ago so i have no idea how old he is, but today he was acting EXTREMELY strange for about 40 minutes, maybe. he was having trouble walking, falling over and stumbling. his sense of balance seemed completely off. he wouldnt perch on my fingers, and he just stood there all puffed up and let me pet him on him stomach, which is very unusual (usually he runs around or plays stairs or something). he also tried to fly around and kept bumping into walls, falling into crevaces, when hed land his wings would stay outstreched. he was acting really lethargic, he wasnt chirping at all and the feathers on his forehead have become tinted green.
hes been falling off his perches for a while, maybe a month or two, but he has always gotten right back up
i havent noticed any difference in his stool.
I dont have money or the resources to even find a vet, any suggestions? i am very worried about him and i dont know anything about parakeet health:

parakeets health?
he’s got a blockage and can’t seem to defacate. what do i do now?
GeeGee died Sunday. Thanks for the responses but we have no clue why a four-year old bird would die so suddenly. We’ve had other birds that lived 10-12 years.

My parakeet fell into a REALLY DUSTY VENT?
I just bought my parakeet yesterday and I was trying to let it get used to our house. It usually sits downstairs, but today, for an hour, I had my parakeet in my room while my dad was cleaning the floors downstairs. And while I was on the computer, I noticed my parakeet shaking it’s tail a lot. So i looked at it and I noticed there was a poop there. So i decided to grab the parakeet and wipe off the poop. However, the parakeet bit me and I accidently let go! It fell into a VERy dusty vent and got stuck there! I freaked out and after about 2 minutes, I finally got it out and back in the cage.
Can you guys PLEASE tell me if there’s any hazard to the bird (health-wise).
I know it was stupid of me to grab the bird, please don’t critize me on that, i KNOW it’s my fault. Just tell me if I should worry about my parakeet’s health.
